Chicago Bears head coach Matt Eberflus on Monday stood by his decision to have Cairo Santos attempt a 46-yard field goal in the waning seconds of Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Green Bay Packers.
The one thing Eberflus would like more clarity on, however, is the Packers' conduct that led to their game-winning blocked kick.
Eberflus told reporters on Monday that the Bears plan to send video of the final play to the league office because they felt Green Bay was "on our long snapper" and a flag should have been called.
NFL players are not permitted to line up over the long snapper on kicks.
The blocked kick dropped the Bears to 4-6 on the season and followed a trying week in the Windy City that began with Eberflus firing offensive coordinator Shane Waldron.
The offense showed life under interim play-caller Thomas Brown, but Eberflus faced questions on Monday on if the Bears should have run an additional play to shorten the length on Santos' potential game-winner.
Eberflus echoed his stance from Sunday that he was comfortable with Santos' range from 46 yards.
"We've just got to be firmer in the pocket there (with) the field goal protection," Eberflus said on Monday, per ESPN.
