A rare sight of Marshawn Lynch decked out in all Seahawks gear made the Seattle locker room do a double take, even if it was the day after Halloween.
The retired running back was clad in a sweatshirt, shorts and sandals all featuring the Seahawks logo in his visit back on Tuesday's team-meeting day. Per The News Tribune, when Lynch played for the Seahawks, he was more apt to wear "Beast Mode" or University of California branded apparel.
But is Lynch signaling a comeback by wearing his heart on his sleeve?
When asked how he's been, the 30 year old responded with a classic Beast Mode one-word succinct answer, "Smooth."
Lynch's playing rights technically are under Seahawks control through 2017, but he told Showtime's 60 Minutes Sportsback in June that "I'm retired. Is that good enough?"
He was apparently in town for former teammate Ricardo Lockette's charity launch, a year after the wideout's scary head and neck injury that ended his NFL career. Lynch touchingly spent time with Lockette and his family while his teammate was recovering in the hospital.
It's difficult not to irresponsibly speculate, however, on a possible return to the gridiron with Lynch hanging around his former teammates in the team's facility.
The Seahawks are 30th this season in yards per carry (3.2) after finishing seventh and first in that metric with Lynch mostly toting the rock the previous two years. To be fair, it would be even a tough task for Beast Mode to run effectively in 2016 behind such a floundering offensive line.
