Landry Jones led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 25-13 come-from-behind victory over the Arizona Cardinals, but the question looming in the Iron City is whether Ben Roethlisberger will return in Week 7.
"We're going to tape it and brace it and I'm going to see what I can do," Roethlisberger said after the win, via the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "My plan is to go out Wednesday and practice. We'll see what happens. I know I've got to be smart about it. I've got to be able to defend myself. We're just going to take it day by day."
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported prior to Sunday's contest that Big Benis a longshot to face the Kansas City Chiefs this weekend. Week 7 is the beginning of the window for his potential return after suffering an MCL sprain and bone bruise in Week 3 -- a four-to-six-week rehab diagnosis.
If Roethlisberger is not ready to go, then Jones will probably start because backup quarterback Mike Vick likely will not be ready.
Vick told NFL Media's Aditi Kinkhabwala that he will test his torn hamstring in two days, but would guess that he's "at least a week away" from returning. Vick left Sunday's win over the Cardinals in the second half after injuring the hamstring, but struggled mightily before exiting.
