Bills' Edwards out vs. Panthers with concussion; Fitzpatrick to start

ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Bills starting quarterback Trent Edwards won't play in Buffalo's game at Carolina on Sunday because of a concussion.

Ryan Fitzpatrick will get the start for Edwards, who will miss his first game of the season after being knocked out early in the second quarter of the Bills' win over the New York Jets last Sunday.

Starting safeties Donte Whitner (ankle) and Bryan Scott (ankle), and starting right tackle Jonathan Scott (ankle) are all out as well.

Defensive tackle Kyle Williams (shoulder) is questionable, while defensive end Chris Kelsay (eye) and cornerback Terrence McGee (knee) are both probable.

Receiver Terrell Owens didn't appear to be practicing during the 10-minute portion that reporters are allowed to watch. Coach Dick Jauron said afterward that it was not injury related.
