The Buffalo Bills are adding another piece to their wide receiver room.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling is expected to sign a one-year deal worth up to $4.5 million with the Bills, NFL Network Insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero reported on Tuesday morning, per sources. Buffalo later announced the news.
After four seasons with the Green Bay Packers, MVS helped the Kansas City Chiefs win back-to-back Super Bowl titles. The speedy wideout struggled with consistency and drops in two seasons in K.C., but he came up clutch down the stretch, including catching a touchdown in the Super Bowl LVIII win over San Francisco.
Valdes-Scantling brings needed speed to a Bills receiver corps that lost Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis this offseason. MVS's ability to stretch the field will help open things up underneath for Josh Allen.
After trading Diggs, the Bills drafted Keon Coleman, who immediately became the top talent in the crew. MVS adds a swift veteran to the equation alongside Khalil Shakir, Curtis Samuel, Mack Hollins, Justin Shorter, Chase Claypool, KJ Hamler and others battling for end-of-the-roster spots.
After helping the Chiefs past the Bills during their latest title run, MVS now flips sides and will attempt to help Buffalo finally get over the postseason hump.
