- Former Oakland Raiders running back Bo Jackson's Elite Sports company has received approval from the Avon City Council in Ohio to build a $6 million indoor sports training complex, the Lorain (Ohio) Morning Journal reported. It will be the second such complex in the state.
- The Chicago Sun-Times reported that defensive tackle Christian Tupou stayed in shape by playing rugby until the Chicago Bears called.
