Brett Favre's high school team loses on miracle TD pass

Brett Favre produced more than his share of late-game heroics during his NFL playing days. Thursday, he found out that being on the losing end of a late miracle is just as heartbreaking at the high school level.

Favre, the offensive coordinator at Hattiesburg (Miss.) Oak Grove High School, could only watch as his team suffered its first loss of the season on a late touchdown catch, just days after Golden Tate's controversial Hail Mary grab gave the Seattle Seahawks a 14-12 win over the Green Bay Packers.

According to Yahoo! Sports, Hattiesburg held the lead with just over a minute left and had Petal High facing a fourth-and-17. Petal quarterback Larson Barkurn scrambled behind the line of scrimmage before lofting a desperation pass that was hauled in by receiver Jamarcus Revies in the end zone for the final points of a 24-21 win.

Favre was left scowling on the sideline, barking at his players for the defensive breakdown.

It wasn't quite like losing on "Monday Night Football," but don't tell that to the legendary gunslinger.
