Broncos set to host Alabama DL Dareus, LSU CB Peterson

John Elway is doing his due diligence in preparation for his first draft as a front-office member of the Denver Broncos.

Elway, Denver's executive vice president of football operations, revealed Monday that more of the draft's top talent will make the trip to team headquarters this week.

"We'll have 13 more draft prospects visiting us over the next 10 days, including (Alabama) DL Marcell Dareus and (LSU) CB Patrick Peterson," Elway tweeted on Monday.

Elway, an iconic figure in Denver who won two Super Bowl championships with the team, often uses Twitter to interface with fans and the media.

On Sunday, he explained the team's reasoning for inviting players to team headquarters.

"These visits are an opportunity for us to get to know the prospects better personally and also gauge their football knowledge," he said.

The Broncos went 4-12 last season and own the No. 2 pick in the draft. Last week, the Broncos hosted some of the draft's premiere defensive prospects, including Clemson defensive end Da'Quan Bowers, Texas A&M linebacker Von Miller and Auburn defensive tackle Nick Fairley.

It also remains possible the Broncos will select a quarterback. Elway said earlier this month he's not sure if the team has a franchise quarterback on its roster. Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow are the top two QBs on Denver's depth chart.
