Brock Osweiler won't have an important receiving target when he makes his first career start.
Denver Broncos wideout Emmanuel Sanders will miss Sunday's contest versus the Chicago Bears, according to the team.
Sanders tested his injured ankle on a cold Soldier Field Sunday. After watching him run routes, it was determined Sanders couldn't play effectively through the injury.
The wideout was limited in practice on Thursday and Friday. Coach Gary Kubiak was optimistic this week Sanders would play to help out the young quarterback. In the end, it was deemed sitting out was in the best interest of the team and player moving forward.
Without Sanders, Osweiler will rely heavily on Demaryius Thomas and the running back combo of Ronnie Hillman and C.J. Anderson.
