The Cleveland Browns stayed put atop Friday's second round to snag defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah No. 32 overall.
Born in Nigeria, Ogbah, standing 6-foot-4 and 273-pounds, will add much-needed pass rushing off the edge for the Browns and power against the run. The former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year out of Oklahoma State earned 13 sacks last season.
Ogbah combines brute power with explosiveness off the edge and could blossom into a force in the Browns front seven. NFL Media draft analyst Mike Mayock compared Ogbah to Steelers rusher Bud Dupree.
The Browns desperately needed help along the defensive front after owning one of the leakiest units in the NFL. Ogbah is the third defensive end that the Browns have selected in the first two rounds since 2011 (Barkevious Mingo, Jabaal Sheard).
Ogbah immediately upgrades a Cleveland defense that ranked 29th in points per game allowed (27.0), 27th in total yards per game (379.2) and 28th in sacks (29) in 2015. Over the past two seasons the Browns combined for a paltry 60 total sacks.
Still rough around the edges, Ogbah has room to grow before he's a standout -- scouts often pointed to his stiffness as an impediment off the edge -- but he plays with a high motor and can contribute right away agains the run for a rebuilding Cleveland squad.
The Browns selected former Penn State defensive end Carl Nassib in the third round (No. 65 overall).
