While the Around The League gang sees Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Mike Glennon as potential trade bait, the same can't be said of Kirk Cousins.
At least not according to Redskins general manager Bruce Allen, who told reporters Tuesday that "no conversations" have taken place on moving their backup quarterback.
That lines up with what coach Jay Gruden told us at the NFL Annual Meeting, insisting that the Redskins"haven't heard a word" from teams about swinging a deal for Cousins while adding that he's "excited" to have Cousins on the roster.
With former 'Skins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan embedded in Cleveland, the Browns have been whispered about as a potential suitor, but they already have Brian Hoyer, Vince Young and Tyler Thigpen under contract while looming as a rock-solid bet to draft a rookie this week. Nobody else has been seriously linked to Cousins, who said in February that he's "very comfortable here in D.C.," but desires the "chance to compete to be a starting quarterback."
With Cousins worth at most a third-round pick, Washington appears content to keep Robert Griffin III's backup on the scene for at least one more season.
