SI.com's Peter King wrote Tuesday that he has heard the Cardinals have some interest in Baltimore Ravens left tackle Bryant McKinnie, who has spent most of the season on the pine behind left tackle Michael Oher and rookie right tackle Kelechi Osemele.
McKinnie is a former Pro Bowl player who appears to have worn out his welcome in Baltimore. He stayed with the team after taking a $1 million paycut before the season, but he has rarely played. He could be of value to the Cardinals, who have the two worst starting tackles in football, according to ProFootballFocus.com.
PFF calculated (via King) that Bobbie Massie and D'Anthony Batiste have combined to surrender 25 sacks and 74 quarterback hurries in eight games. This explains why Kevin Kolb can't sneeze without feeling intense pain and almost every John Skelton dropback turns into a panicked check-down to a receiver not named Larry Fitzgerald.
McKinnie isn't the player he was with the Minnesota Vikings, but he's still a better option than what the Cardinals have been running out there for two months.
Just keep him clear of any gentlemen haunts of the night.
