Buccaneers get three-day jump on Bears for London showdown

The Chicago Bears and Tampa Bay Buccaneers are taking distinctly different approaches toward their Week 7 game in London next Sunday.

Fresh off a 26-20 upset of the New Orleans Saints, the Buccaneers arrived at Heathrow Airport around 10 p.m. local time Monday after opting to spend the whole week in the British capital to adjust to the five-hour time change and prepare for Sunday's game. The Bears are scheduled to fly to London on Thursday after practice.

The Chicago Tribune wondered in Monday's edition if the extra time in London will pay any dividends for the Buccaneers.

The Bucs certainly have experience playing in the U.K. -- they lost by four touchdowns to the New England Patriots when the two squads met in Wembley Stadium in 2009.

Tampa Bay players will run drills with about 200 students on Tuesday before the team's first practice on Wednesday.
