The Falcons announced the moves Tuesday, shortly after the Rams hired Snead as their new general manager. He had spent 13 years with the Falcons, the last three as director of player personnel.

Caldwell will take over that post, moving up after spending the previous four seasons as director of college scouting. Polk has been in Atlanta's scouting department the past six years. His most recent duties included all professional leagues, as well as advance scouting.

General manager Thomas Dimitroff says Caldwell and Polk "have been essential in helping construct our team."
