Calvin Johnson says he's finally healthy.
When talking to former teammate Nate Burleson in an interview that aired Sunday on NFL Network's NFL GameDay First, Megatron expanded on plenty of topics, including the fact that his high ankle sprain has healed. He even told Burleson to start him in fantasy football.
"Put me in the lineup, man," Johnson said. "I'm healthy. I'm ready to play."
Ahead of Sunday'spremiere matchup against the 5-3 Dolphins, Johnson didn't hold back, especially when it came to his quarterback, Matthew Stafford. Johnson acknowledged Stafford's past tendencies to simply hurl the ball up to him in triple coverage. But now?
"Now, he goes through all of his reads on the field," he said.
When taking a broad look at Johnson's career, it's hard to believe he's not close to smashing some of the league's long-standing records. But at 29, Johnson still has plenty of time. Especially if he's truly back from those nagging ankle issues.
"I would like to go down as the greatest receiver in this game," Johnson told Burleson. "I'm not doing all this hard work for nothing."
