Arizona Cardinals right tackle Bobby Massie was suspended two games by the league Saturday for the violating the NFL's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse. Massie initially was facing the prospect of a three-game ban before getting the suspension reduced under appeal.
Massie is eligible to return to the Cardinals' active roster on Sept. 21 following Arizona's Week 2 contest against the Chicago Bears.
The suspension is the result of an incident from Super Bowl week, according to NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport. Massie was arrested for being intoxicated behind the wheel at the Cardinals' facility.
The Cardinals can ill afford to have liabilities on their offensive line this season with Carson Palmer returning from ACL surgery.
