Cardinals' Horton interviews with Rams one day after Fisher

Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Ray Horton interviewed Friday for the St. Louis Rams' coaching job, according to a league source.

Horton, a longtime assistant under Pittsburgh Steelers defensive coordinator Dick LeBeau, just finished his first season with the Cardinals.

Interviewing Horton put the Rams in compliance with the "Rooney Rule," which requires teams to interview at least one minority candidate for head-coaching jobs.

Former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who started interviewing with the Rams on Thursday, remains their primary target and numerous league sources believe Fisher will ultimately choose the Rams over the Dolphins.

The Ramsfired Steve Spagnuolo on Monday after a 2-14 season. Spagnuolo was 10-38 in three seasons with the Rams, who haven't reached the playoffs since 2004.
