The Arizona Cardinals are talking with the agent for defensive end Calais Campbell about a new long-term contract.
Cardinals general manager Rod Graves told the Arizona Republic on Monday that he is looking for a deal to be reached "sooner rather than later."
"We've been in negotiations for some time," Graves said. "Not only has Calais performed well on the field, but he's also been superb off the field as a representative of this team."
Campbell, 25, is in the fourth and last year of his rookie contract, which pays him $600,000 this year. He has a team-leading seven sacks and three blocked field goals this year.
