Cardinals part ways with former starting OL Brown, bring back Bridges

TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals released offensive lineman Elton Brown, signed free-agent offensive lineman Jeremy Bridges to a one-year contract and added four free agents to their practice squad Tuesday.

Height: 6-5

Weight: 338

Experience: 5th season

College: Virginia

Filling out the eight-man practice squad are cornerback Rashad Barksdale, outside linebacker Chris Harrington, middle linebacker Lee Robinson and fullback Fui Vakapuna. All recently were cut from other NFL teams.

Brown, a guard and tackle, was drafted by the Cardinals in the fourth round in 2005, but he lost his starting position last season.

Harrington was a sixth-round pick of the Cardinals in 2008 and spent 10 weeks on their practice squad before the Cincinnati Bengals signed him.

Bridges rejoins the Cardinals after playing three seasons with the Carolina Panthers and this preseason with the Washington Redskins. The Cardinals originally claimed him off waivers from the Philadelphia Eagles in September 2004, and he played 21 games, including 11 starts at guard, over two seasons for Arizona.

Financial terms of Bridges' contract weren't disclosed.
