Cardinals re-sign OL Brown, bring in veteran TE Becht on one-year deals

The Arizona Cardinals announced Thursday that they have agreed to a one-year contract with offensive lineman Elton Brown and signed three free-agent players, including veteran tight end Anthony Becht, to one-year deals.

Financial terms weren't disclosed.

Brown is a four-year NFL veteran who played in all 16 regular-season games and four playoff contests for the Cardinals last season. He has played guard and tackle in Arizona and made 14 starts in 34 regular-season games since being a fourth-round draft pick out of the University of Virginia in 2005.

Becht, whom the St. Louis Rams released last week, has 178 catches for 1,450 yards and 20 touchdowns in nine NFL seasons with the New York Jets (2000-04), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2005-07) and St. Louis Rams (2008). Becht was a first-round draft pick (27th overall) out of West Virginia in 2000, when current Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt was an offensive assistant for the Jets.

The Cardinals also signed defensive tackle Rodney Leisle and center Donovan Raiola. Leisle played in 17 games with the New Orleans Saintsfrom 2004 to 2006, then was released in 2007. Raiola, the brother of Detroit Lions center Dominic Raiola, has spent time with the Rams and Seattle Seahawks, but he hasn't played in an NFL regular-season game.
