Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians expressed optimism last month that Carson Palmer will be recovered enough from November ACL surgery to participate in a portion of OTAs this spring.
So far, so good.
General manager Steve Keim told KTAR-FM Phoenix last Friday that Palmer is ahead of schedule in his rehab.
"He's awesome," Keim said, via ArizonaSports.com. "He came in, I believe it was yesterday and I talked to him at length, he's more energized than ever and he looked fantastic."
Palmer's outlook has come a long way from mid-November, when he acknowledged crying "like a baby" after the second ACL tear of his career.
Fortunately for the 35-year-old Palmer, this injury is considerably less severe than the 2006 shredded knee that doctors deemed a "four" on a "scale of one to three."
The Cardinals have to be feeling better now about their offense than at any point since team president Michael Bidwell vowed to build the team around Palmer, one day prior to the quarterback's season-ending injury.
