The East-West Shrine Bowl is staying in Texas, only this time with an upgrade for its 100th iteration.
The pre-NFL Draft all-star game announced Monday it will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, at 8 p.m. ET on Jan. 30, 2025.
NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero first reported the venue for the game, which will air on NFL Network.
The East-West Shrine Bowl took place last year at The Star, where the Cowboys train and practice. This time around, the centennial edition rightly has upgraded to where the Cowboys play their games on Sundays -- the ultimate goal for the collegiate athletes taking part.
"We're delighted to showcase the best college football players in the country with the 100th edition of the historic East-West Shrine Bowl at AT&T Stadium in January," Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones said, per the release by the East-West Shrine Bowl. "It's an honor to once again host a college football game of this significance. We look forward to bringing the top college football players in the country to North Texas, all with a focus on helping Shriners Children's and their mission."
Founded in 1925, the East-West Shrine Bowl is the longest-running college all-star game. The event benefits Shriners Children's, along with its mission to deliver care for children with varying health conditions, regardless of the families' ability to pay for costs.
The impact of the game for its participants has exploded in recent years, even after a century of play. The East-West Shrine Bowl produced 57 NFL draftees, an all-time high in the event's history and a 24% increase from 2023, when the event produced its then-highest number of drafted players (45) in the past decade.
Among those selected were Packers linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and Panthers running back Jonathon Brooks, the highest draftees at No. 45 and 46 overall, respectively, and two quarterbacks, the Ravens' Devin Leary and the Jets' Jordan Travis.
Other legends of the game such as Tom Brady, Walter Payton and John Elway also showcased in past years, as well as current notable players like Brock Purdy, Zay Flowers and Isiah Pacheco.
Just over half a year from now, another group of names will take the field at AT&T Stadium to determine who's next.
"We are thrilled to bring our centennial game to one of the world's most incredible sports venues," Shriners Children's' vice president of sports Bob Roller said. "The East-West Shrine Bowl has had a transformational impact on the lives of children for a century. The nation's best college football all-stars taking the field at AT&T Stadium is truly a fitting celebration of this historic milestone."
