Chargers donate 25,000 shoes to children in San Diego area

Wednesday's health and safety news from the world of sports:

On Tuesday, the San Diego Chargers donated 1,000 pairs of new shoes to deserving kids in the area for the 25th year in a row, Chargers.com reported.

The South Florida Sun Sentinel published a health column from a doctor who noted the Boston Children's Hospital's recent study, which said kids take longer to recover from concussions.

The Williams Record looked at a Williams College professor who is researching sports-induced concussions.

Patch.com in Canton, Conn., reported on the state's concussion law and what parents should know about head injuries.
