With their season three games from being over, the Chicago Bears made a move at the quarterback position.
No, not that move, Bears fans.
The team announced it elevated David Fales to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and placed linebacker Darryl Sharpton on injured reserve with a hamstring injury.
Fales spent the last 13 weeks on the Bears' practice squad after being selected by Chicago in the sixth round. The Bears made the move after the Patriotsreportedly pushed to sign Fales, per the Chicago Tribune. He'll sit behind Jimmy Clausen as Jay Cutler's backup.
As the Bears' season spirals, there is a chance that we could see Fales enter a game as a backup. If nothing else it would help assess the rookie's future as Chicago turns to evaluating their younger players. Clausen clearly isn't the answer.
