Chiefs TE Travis Kelce: Taylor Swift's plays haven't 'gotten to coach (Andy) Reid yet'

With only two days left before the Kansas City Chiefs kick off the season, it appears Taylor Swift's playbook ideas have yet to be installed.

Swift's beau and the Chiefs' All-Pro tight end, Travis Kelce, said the pop megastar's ideas -- which might be a little tight end centric -- haven't made it to head coach Andy Reid just yet.

"I know none of the plays have gotten to coach Reid yet, but if they ever do, I'll make sure everyone knows it was her creation," Kelce joked in an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show.

Kelce and Swift created a media and fan frenzy amid the 2023 season when they began dating and the multi-time Grammy Award winner started attending Chiefs games.

As Kansas City went 9-3 with Swift in attendance, including winning a second straight Super Bowl, the popstar also developed her love and knowledge for the game, Kelce said.

So much so that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes said recently Swift had been drawing up plays.

However, Kelce pointed out she leans a little tight end heavy in her offensive coordinating.

"She's a little biased and just creates plays for me," Kelce said, "so we'll see if they can make it to coach Reid's office."

In between winning Super Bowl LVI against the San Francisco 49ers and Thursday's season opener against the Baltimore Ravens, Kelce took some time to travel.

He memorably appeared on stage during Swift's Eras Tour stop in London, donning a top hat and tux while carrying Swift across part of the stage to a broken-hearted couch.

Kelce admitted to Eisen that, thanks to Swift, the prep for his appearance wasn't too complicated, though that didn't expunge all his apprehension.

"It wasn't a lot," he said. "Taylor knew when the lights are on, I'm going to have some fun. She put me in a position to where I didn't have to do much for it to be a success. She put me in a really comfortable part of the show. I was just there not to screw anything up. I mentioned it on (the) New Heights (podcast), I just didn't want to drop her when I was carrying her on the stage."

Kelce's headed to the Pro Football Hall of Fame eventually due in large part to his propensity to hold on to the ball. He's also never shied away from the big stage or having fun.

"I'm always down to have some fun on stage with Tay-Tay," said the three-time Super Bowl winner.

Kelce and Kansas City are aiming to make more history in 2024, striving to become the first NFL team to ever win three straight Super Bowls.

Reid, one of the most celebrated offensive minds in NFL history, is known for happily entertaining play suggestions. Why not one for the Swifties?

After all, Swift provided plenty of fanfare and some good luck last season.

Her songwriting has helped to make her a global icon. Maybe she's got an NFL play or two in her.
