The Jacksonville Jaguars will have to wait to deploy their new look backfield.
The team announced running back Chris Ivory will be inactive in Sunday's opener versus the Green Bay Packers. They later added that Ivory is doing well and would be released from the hospital in the next day or two, after which more information would be provided.
Ivory was admitted to the hospital this morning with a general medical issue. The team did not specify the issue. NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported that it's unrelated to the calf injury that had Ivory listed as questionable on the injury report.
Ivory was signed this offseason as a power complement to T.J. Yeldon.
Yeldon will get the start Sunday and should see the bulk of the carries. The Jags red zone running game is hindered with Ivory not in the lineup. Look for Blake Bortles to throw the ball a lot near the goal line, as the Jags were forced to do last season.
