Chuck Pagano: Andrew Luck ruled out for Week 16

The uncertainty under center will continue for at least one more week in Indianapolis.

Colts coach Chuck Pagano announced Monday that Andrew Luck has been ruled out for Week 16 at Miami.

The Colts want Luck to be cleared by doctors for game action with enough time to practice all week before he returns. There is not enough time to do so this week.

If the Colts beat the Dolphins and remain in contention for the AFC South title, there remains a chance that Luck will be available for the regular-season finale versus the Titans.

Although Luck's lacerated kidney was healthy enough for a return to individual drills last week, he had not yet been cleared for 11-on-11 work.

Luck isn't the only Colts quarterback battling injuries. Pagano labeled interim starter Matt Hasselbeck as "beat up from the feet up."

Hasselbeck gutted out injuries to his rib, neck and arm during Sunday's loss to the Texans, but the team realized he would be touch-and-go from the opening whistle.

Pagano will evaluate Hasselbeck's status on Tuesday. If the 40-year-old's over-burdened body doesn't cooperate, the Colts will have to turn to Charlie Whitehurst with the season on the line at Miami.
