The San Francisco 49ers are poised to sign former Arizona Cardinals and Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Clark Haggans, Matthew Barrows of the Sacramento Bee reports.
According to Barrows, Haggans will take a physical on Sunday and, if everything checks out, will be signed to the 53-man roster.
Jeremiah: Five deepest teams

The Cardinals re-signed Haggans to a one-year contract in June to provide veteran depth behind projected starters O'Brien Schofield and Sam Acho, but released the veteran as part of their cuts down to a 53-man roster Friday.
Veteran depth is what Haggans would bring to the 49ers, who may be without Parys Haralson, the only backup behind Ahmad Brooks and Aldon Smith, for the season-opener against the Green Bay Packers.
Haggans, 35, can still play. According to official playing-time documents, Haggans logged nearly 75 percent of the Cardinals' defensive snaps last season and, according to the Football Outsiders Almanac, had 15 hurries.
