Following the San Francisco 49ers' 43-18 loss to the Steelers on Sunday, quarterback Colin Kaepernick provided his diagnosis on what went wrong in Pittsburgh.
"We got to our passing game," Kaepernick said via ESPN. "We just got to it a little too late (on Sunday)."
Kaepernick had his fourth career 300-yard passing game with 335 yards. However, 274 of those yards came in the second half, after the Steelers already had mounted a sizable lead. Kaepernick went 33 of 46 with two touchdowns passes, and rushed for a team-high 51 yards on eight carries.
"There's things in this game that we can take away as positives," Kaepernick said, "but we don't play for moral victories. It's something that we have to look at this week and move on and use it as things to learn from moving forward."
The Niners currently stand at 1-1, and have a difficult Week 3 road matchup with the Cardinals on deck.
