The Indianapolis Colts officially signed punter Jeremy Kapinos to replace suspended punter Pat McAfee on Tuesday. The Colts also signed defensive back Chip Vaughn and placed tight end Dallas Clark on season-ending injured reserve.
Clark, a Pro Bowl selection after catching 100 passes in 2009, will have wrist surgery. The Colts suspended McAfee for one game after his early morning arrest last week for public intoxication.
Kapinos appeared in 21 NFL games with the Green Bay Packers and New York Jets during the past three seasons, including all 16 in 2009, when he averaged 43.8 yards on 66 punts.
Vaughn was a fourth-round draft pick of the New Orleans Saints in the 2009 NFL Draft. The Saints waived him at end of training camp, and the Philadelphia Eagles signed him to their practice squad before waiving him Sept. 21.
