Reggie Wayne brushed off the elbow injury he suffered in Sunday's win over the Bengals.
"I'm good now," he said after the game. "I just kind of fell on it, fell on my arm. Go home, have an adult beverage and see how it feels in the morning."
Apparently the beverage wasn't the panacea the Indianapolis Colts receiver was hoping for, but it didn't make the situation worse.
NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Tuesday that the Colts don't believe Wayne's injury was serious. At most the receiver could miss two weeks, but a source close to Wayne isn't ready to say he'll even miss one game.
Long-time beat reporter Mike Chappell, writing for WRTV, first reported Wayne could miss a game or two.
As of this Tuesday morning, the Colts were still reviewing Wayne's elbow scans (he had two) before determining a firm timeline, Rapoport reported.
Reggie has been very un-Wayne like in recent weeks, catching just four balls in each of the last two games for a combined 50 yards. He also has had several drops.
Even without Wayne putting up his normal production Indy's offense has hummed along, leading the league in total yards and passing yards per game. The Colts can afford to rest the vet a week or two if they need in order to get him back fully healthy for the season's stretch run.
