Indianapolis Colts general manager Ryan Grigson probably didn't expect he'd have to deal with this so quickly.
He, his staff and the coaches were taking over a 2-14 team last year. Success always results in your people being cherry-picked, but after just 12 months?
That's exactly what happened as offensive coordinator Bruce Arians has drawn interest from NFL teams with head-coaching vacancies. The Chicago Bears have asked permission for an interview, and others are expected to make the same request.
"We would try to do whatever we could to keep Bruce, but again, he's his own man and will make his own decisions," Grigson said on NFL Network's "NFL AM" on Friday.
"It's kind of a great situation we have here. It's pure speculation, but we'd love to have him back."
The front office has received some attention, too. Sources told NFL.com's Albert Breer that Colts director of player personnel Tom Telesco will interview with the San Diego Chargers in Indy on Friday.
No one expected a playoff appearance so quickly for the Colts. They might lose personnel because of it.
UPDATE: The Colts have granted the Philadelphia Eaglespermission to interview Arians. That would be a homecoming of sorts for the York, Pa. native. The Eagles also announced they received permission from the Seattle Seahawks to interview defensive coordinator Gus Bradley.
