We didn't really learn anything new about the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
They came to Jacksonville, they conquered with ease in a 37-3 win and they left without any major injuries. At 3-1, they move on.
As for the Jaguars? We already knew they were terrible. Sunday provided us with a reminder of their ineptitude, which is both vast and relentless. Through four games, Jacksonville has been outscored 129-31.
A cursory glance at the Jaguars' remaining schedule tells us Gus Bradley's team has a very good chance at entering its bye week at 0-8. The Watch will be on in earnest at that point.
Here's what else we learned:
- Blaine Gabbert continues to show nothing. The Jaguars quarterback averaged just over 5 yards per attempt and threw three interceptions, one of which was brought back for a game-turning touchdown in the second quarter. Each Gabbert start reinforces the notion that he's not the answer.
- Colts running back Trent Richardson scored a touchdown from close in for a second consecutive week, but he brought his yards-per-carry issues with him from Cleveland. He finished with 60 yards on 20 carries.
- Maurice Jones-Drew will be playing elsewhere next season. His production is bound to crater given the Jaguars' plight, meaning there's a good chance his new team will get him at a bargain rate.
- Marcedes Lewis' return had promised some sort of hope on offense for the Jaguars. Instead, the tight end re-injured his calf in the first quarter and did not return. It's the same calf he hurt in the preseason, costing him the first three games.
- One more depressing stat about the Jaguars before we go: The offense hasn't scored a first-half touchdown since Dec. 30. They've been outscored 75-8 in that time. Good grief.
