Colts waive two defensive players before Titans game

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Colts have waived defensive end Josh Thomas and defensive back Anthony Madison.

Both were waived Tuesday after signing with the Colts to add depth to a defense hit by several injuries.

Thomas rejoined the team last week when Indy wasn't sure if four-time Pro Bowl defensive end Dwight Freeney could play with an abdominal injury at Houston. Freeney sat out, and Thomas went into the defensive line rotation.

The move with Madison could indicate that the Colts will get cornerback Kelvin Hayden back this week. Madison was signed Nov. 11 after Hayden went down with a sprained knee. The team has not said which knee Hayden injured.
