Commanders head coach Ron Rivera will not be at Washington's practice on Wednesday, a team spokesperson told multiple reporters. The spokesperson said that Rivera is in California to handle a personal matter concerning his mother, but is expected to return Wednesday night.
Defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio will be leading the Commanders' practice during Rivera's absence.
The Commanders are preparing to defend a two-game winning streak when they play the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
