Condoleezza Rice stars in new NFL apparel blitz

Condoleezza Rice isn't afraid to show her true colors.

The former U.S. Secretary of State and lifelong Cleveland Browns fan is among a flock of luminaries supporting their favorite team as part of the league's new print campaign for women's NFL apparel.

Rice appears in the ads sporting her Josh Cribbs jersey. Bandied around in the past as a possible candidate for NFL Commissioner, Rice's passion for the Cleveland franchise dates back to childhood, when she watched a (much more dominant) Browns team scatter opponents.

Cleveland sports has been tough skating for Rice in recent years, but she told The Plain Dealer in 2009, via CBSSports.com, "I'm an optimist. I just keep hoping. Hey, things have to get better."

The apparel campaign also features tennis icon Serena Williams, wearing an offbeat Miami Dolphins T-shirt. This makes sense: Williams is a minority owner of the team.

Meanwhile, the New York Jets -- sigh -- are celebrated by a pair of high-octane society women in Melania Trump, wife of Donald Trump, and Suzanne Johnson, wife of team owner Woody Johnson. Not a Tim Tebow jersey to be found, but they wear the green and white well.
