It was an instant legacy shifter, and barring a dramatic return to the field that ends with Lombardi glory -- in Dallas or somewhere else -- people will remember that press conference as much as anything Romo ever did on the field.
The whole scene was begging for the montage treatment, and the Cowboys were happy to oblige, matching Romo's address with appropriate video footage and obligatory swelling orchestral entry to give everything an additional shot of gravitas.
