Cowboys LB Lee named Pepsi Rookie of the Week

Voters on NFL.com have made their choice. Linebacker Sean Lee of the Dallas Cowboys is the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week for games played on December 2-6, the NFL announced Friday.

Lee had two interceptions (44 yards), returning one for a 31-yard touchdown, in a 38-35 overtime win at the Indianapolis Colts.

Lee was selected from among five finalists through fan votes on NFL.com/rookies. The other finalists were safety Eric Berry of the Kansas City Chiefs, running back LeGarrette Blount of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, cornerback Joe Haden of the Cleveland Browns and running back Chris Ivory of the New Orleans Saints.

After the regular season, five players will be nominated for Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Year honors. Fans can vote for the winner on NFL.com/rookies throughout the month of January. The winner will be announced at a press conference at Super Bowl XLV in North Texas.

This is Pepsi's ninth year as the official soft-drink sponsor of the NFL and the ninth year that Pepsi will present the NFL Rookie of the Week and NFL Rookie of the Year awards.

A closer look at the finalists:

LeGarrette Blount, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Blount rushed for 103 yards with one touchdown on 20 carries in the Buccaneers' 28-24 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Joe Haden, CB, Cleveland Browns

Haden totaled five tackles, a career-high four passes defensed and one interception in a 13-10 win at the Miami Dolphins.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans Saints

Ivory rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns, including a career-long 55-yard score, in the Saints' 34-30 victory at the Cincinnati Bengals.

Sean Lee, LB, Dallas Cowboys

Eric Berry, S, Kansas City Chiefs

Berry led the team with 7 tackles and added two passes defensed in a 10-6 win over the Denver Broncos.
