Cowboys look to keep Panthers winless

Last meeting
RB Marion Barber rushed for 110 yards and a score as the Cowboys beat the Panthers, 20-13, in Week 16 of 2007.

Streaks
Dallas has won seven consecutive regular-season games against Carolina to take a commanding 7-3 overall series lead, including the playoffs.

Last week
Panthers QB Jake Delhomme played better against the Falcons, but Carolina fell to 0-2 with a 28-20 loss at Atlanta. ... Cowboys QB Tony Romo had three interceptions as the Giants rallied for a victory in Dallas on a field goal by Lawrence Tynes as time expired.

Keep your eye on ...
The psyche of the quarterbacks: Both Delhomme and Romo have struggled with turnovers early in the season with five and three interceptions respectively. There has already been talk of Delhomme losing his job if he continues to make costly mistakes. While Romo is in no danger of being benched, he has to perform much better than he did in the national spotlight against the Giants.

Health of Barber: The talented running back is averaging 6.3 yards per carry through two games and is the catalyst for the league's top-ranked rushing attack. However, he injured his quad in Week 2 and his status for Monday night's tilt is uncertain. Felix Jones is capable of supplying big plays, but may not be able to handle being an every down back. Tashard Choice may play a bigger role if Barber sits.

Panthers staying grounded: The Panthers have a dynamic running back duo with DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart, but are in the middle of the pack with an average of 115 yards per game on the ground. In order to take pressure off Delhomme, a steady diet of Williams and Stewart could be on the menu in Dallas.

Did you know?
Delhomme has won three of his past four starts on Monday Night Football. ... The Panthers are 8-0 when Williams rushes for 110 yards or more. ... Since 2004, Cowboys TE Jason Witten has 404 receptions, the second most among players at the position during that span.
