Cowboys QB Dak Prescott dealing with minor foot sprain, not expected to affect preparation for 2024 season

In June, Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy praised quarterback Dak Prescott for having his "best offseason program."

Fast forward to the first week of July, Prescott has been spotted in a protective walking boot while on vacation.

Prescott has been dealing with a very minor foot sprain for the last few days and it's not considered to be anything that should affect his preparation for the 2024 season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Thursday.

The Cowboys QB is entering the final year of his contract. The quarterback market has increased with Jared Goff earning a four-year, $212 million extension with the Detroit Lions. Meanwhile in free agency, Kirk Cousins signed a four-year, $180 million contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

In 2023, Prescott led the league with 410 completions and 36 touchdown passes. He also threw for 4,516 passing yards, his career-best since 2019.

Dallas will begin training camp practice on July 25 in Oxnard, California.
