Cowboys QB Tony Romo: 'Last year was an anomaly'

Tony Romo missed all but four games in 2015 after fracturing his collarbone multiple times. The Dallas Cowboys quarterback doesn't believe the injury will linger.

"I understand where I'm at in my career. I also understand that -- I was hurt and banged up last year, but it's a collarbone," he said, via the team's official website. "I don't think my collarbone is going to be anything that takes you out every year that you play football."

Since becoming the starting quarterback midway through the 2006 season, Romo has started 127 of 154 games. Of his 27 missed contests, 22 came in the 2015 (12) and 2010 (10) seasons, due to injuries.

Romo believes his injuries last season were not an indication of future instability.

"I guess what I'm trying to say, basically, is I feel like last year was an anomaly," he said. "If we're going to base it all on that, you have to come back and prove differently. But the fact that we went 4-12, whether I was playing or not -- we have to do better. I think part of that is me being healthy, I think part of that is guys getting better and improving."

Romo has participated in the team's offseason workouts and said on multiple occasions he feels great after undergoing surgery on his clavicle this offseason.

Onlookers seem to believe Romo is ready to put last season behind.
