Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin could have attributed last season's decline in catches and yards to a lingering hamstring injury that kept him out of six games.
But the two-time Pro Bowl selection said a lack of physical preparation was the biggest difference between last year and his previous two campaigns.
"I feel like last year I wasn't prepared for the season the way I should've been condition-wise, even though I looked and felt it at the time," Austin told MensHealth.com via The Dallas Morning News. "That's one thing that I have to keep an eye on. To make sure I'm in the best physical shape I can be."
Austin had 43 catches for 579 yards and seven touchdowns in 2011 after eclipsing the 1,000-yard mark in each of the past two seasons. The six-year veteran assured that last year's injuries were not hampering him.
"It feels good. It feels good," Austin said of his hamstring. "(It's) not an issue."
