Former New York Giants running back D.J. Ware has signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced Saturday.
Ware was released by the Giants on Friday after five seasons with the team.
The Star-Ledger reported that Ware chose the Buccaneers over the Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.
Ware joins a Buccaneers' backfield that includes 2012 first-round draft pick Doug Martin and LeGarrette Blount.
The Buccaneers also claimed defensive tackle Corvey Irvin, guard Julian Vandervelde and offensive lineman Cody Wallace off waivers. The team also waived defensive lineman Wallace Gilberry and guard Bradley Sowell.
