Tom Brady will be without another weapon when the New England Patriots take on the Denver Broncos on Sunday night.
Receiver Danny Amendola will not make the flight to Denver on Saturday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported, per a source informed of his plans.
The news was first reported by WBZ TV's Steve Burton.
Amendola was listed as questionable with a knee on the official injury report, but after testing it out Saturday, the Pats decided to leave the receiver at home.
An offense once chock full of weapons will now face the NFL's No. 1 ranked defense without its No. 1 receiver, Julian Edelman (broken foot), No. 2 receiver, Amendola, and the NFL's top satellite back, Dion Lewis (ACL).
The Patriots are left with receivers Brandon LaFell, Keshawn Martin, and Chris Harper. Martin is listed as questionable with a hamstring injury.
Expect Bill Belichick to lean even more on the two-tight end sets with Rob Gronkowski and Scott Chandler as primary receiving threats Sunday against the Broncos. Running backs James White and Brandon Bolden should also play a bigger role in the passing attack with the dearth of receivers.
