The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been confident all offseason that cornerback Darrelle Revis would be ready for training camp. That confidence was well-placed.
NFL Network's Andrea Kremer reported Tuesday that Bucs doctors have cleared Revis for action. Technically, he has been cleared for all activities for weeks by Dr. Russell Warren, who performed Revis' knee surgery in October.
Kremer's latest segment for her series, "Project Revis," will air at 7 p.m. ET Wednesday on "NFL Total Access."
Bucs veterans report for work Wednesday and will take a conditioning test, but Revis will be one of eight players held out of the test because he hasn't trained for it. Revis is expected to participate in individual drills but probably not seven-on-seven work.
Kremer reported that the Bucs feel confident Revis can do everything, and he wants to do everything. But the team will exercise caution early in training camp. No matter how you slice it, it would be stunning if Revis wasn't ready to face his former team, the New York Jets, in the season opener.
