The final piece of the puzzle was first-round pick draft David DeCastro, who signed with the Steelers on Monday, according to NFL.com and NFL Network reporter Albert Breer.

Ed Bouchette of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported DeCastro received a four-year deal with a fifth-year option. The Stanford tackle, selected No. 24 overall in the 2012 NFL Draft, missed the Steelers' OTAs because of the university's "quarter" system.

DeCastro immediately should step into the lineup for a Steelers team that has taken strides to shed age from its starting lineup. He likely steps in for Doug Legursky at starting left guard.

DeCastro is an intense competitor who will add some attitude to Pittsburgh's line. Case in point: Former college teammate Andrew Luck said DeCastro doesn't like to high-five teammates after big plays for fear of breaking his concentration. He gave up one sack during his entire college career.

The Steelers are making a conscious attempt to keep quarterback Ben Roethlisberger upright as he begins his 30s. We're sure Big Ben is OK losing the high-fives if he gain more time outside the trainer's room.
