David Diehl won't miss New York Giants camp after DUI charges

New York Giants offensive lineman David Diehl, arrested last month on charges of driving under the influence, no longer is in jeopardy of missing the first day of training camp following an unscheduled appearance in a Queens Criminal court Saturday morning, according to the New York Post.

Diehl had been scheduled to re-appear in court July 26 -- the opening day of Giants camp -- but his attorneys were able to get a quick hearing.

The Post reports Diehl's lawyers updated the judge Saturday about "continuing discussions for a possible disposition" for the DUI charges. Diehl was ordered to appear back in court Sept. 7.

Diehl was involved in an accident June 10 when he crashed his BMW into two parked cars following a day of drinking while watching a Croatia soccer match.

Diehl was released on his own recognizance. He has publicly apologized for the incident.
