New York Jets wide receiver David Nelson confirmed that Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jonesmade threatening comments to him Sunday. However, the receiver isn't worried enough to change his address.
"I wouldn't say it was a threat," Nelson said Monday of Jones' comments, per ESPNNewYork.com. "I'm not going to say that he threatened me or anything like that. He did say some stuff on the field, but I wouldn't take it as a threat. I'm not going to get into specifics of exactly what he said. But I can confirm I've read a lot of reports that are true."
Jones reportedly said: "I'm going to find out where you live and come and get you," after several plays by Nelson that Jones deemed dirty.
Nelson might not be worried about Jones showing up on his doorstep, but he did take exception to being called dirty. The Bengals won the matchup, 49-9.
"I've never had anyone call me dirty ever in my life before, so this was just an incident where I just think he apparently wasn't fond of playing against a physical receiver from the beginning of the game to late in the game," Nelson said. "His view of dirty is a little bit different than mine.
Nelson was flagged for unnecessary roughness in the third quarter, which could be reviewed by the league office, especially in the wake of Jones' comments.
