Titans tight end Delanie Walker would like to see some more effort down the stretch, especially after spotting some glaring loafs on tape after a 30-8 loss to the Jets.
"I didn't watch the defensive film," Walker said, via The Tennessean. "I can only watch the offensive film. You know, some plays, you can see us taking some plays off."
He added: I don't know what it was. It was a different side of the Titans than I've ever seen before. We didn't play our best football all the way around, including myself."
Walker has been a trooper in Tennessee, and has actually put up some quietly great numbers along the way. Last year, he had the greatest single season for a Titans tight end in franchise history, catching 63 passes for 890 yards and four touchdowns. This year, he caught another 74 for 871 yards and four touchdowns -- on pace to blow out his own record.
Outside of the budding promise of Marcus Mariota, Walker is one of the few instances of valuable and consistent leadership in Nashville so words like this carry some weight. The good news is that everyone is under evaluation, and the people who Walker are referring to will likely get cut out of the equation in 2016.
It's the one benefit of an under performing team that will almost certainly change its head coach and possibly general manager. Walker, who is technically under contract for 2016, is certainly worth inheriting.
