Denver's Wes Welker downplays return to field with larger helmet

Denver Broncos wide receiver Wes Welker, who returned Sunday from two late-season concussions, received a lot of attention for the larger-than-normal helmet he wore against the San Diego Chargers, NESN.com reported.

Welker downplayed the new headgear after the game while talking with the Denver Post.

Welker was back on the field after being sidelined with a head injury during the past three games. He addressed a 25-yard pass he dropped during the third quarter that could have put the Broncos up 21-0.
